As an American, I'm used to living in cities with massive Chinatowns and endless options of authentic, delicious and aromatic Chinese cuisine. You can say moving to Copenhagen was a bit of a culture shock, but I am so happy to have discovered Kewei's Kitchen!
Located in the trendy meatpacking district, Kewei's Kitchen definitely packs a punch of flavor. Kewei's dishes are like a culinary map of China. On a cozy Sunday evening in her restaurant, my boyfriend and I ate our way through spicy cumin lamb from Xinjiang, soy sauce pickled beef from the Northeast regions, scallops with glass noodles reminiscent of Hong Kong, and of course, the ubiquitous dumpling enjoyed across the country.
The entire experience was made even better with the attentive service we received. Our mug of jasmine tea was always kept full and the delicious smells from the open kitchen kept us hungry for more throughout the night. If you're looking for an authentic taste of China, check out Kewei's Kitchen for an unforgettable meal!

We had an amazing meal. This is the real taste of China. As far from an all-day deep-fried buffet as you can get. Genuine Chinese cuisine in a beautiful little restaurant. Try the scallops! The chef clearly puts her heart and soul into the dishes and they look amazing on the plate. I lived in China for three years and every bite took me back. Full of flavour and depth. Kewei’s Kitchen should be called the Chinese Embassy, she’s doing a great job of promoting the country and its fine cuisine.
100% anbefales.

Mouthwatering! Delicious, original and stylish, this is my new favourite place in Copenhagen. The delightful and smiling Kewei serves beautiful authentic Chinese food with a modern twist. I loved the mix of cool, Danish ambience with traditional flavours. The wanton soup was amazing! It's in a great part of town too. 100% recommended.
Okay, men bestemt over den sædvanlige kinesiske billetpris.

Kewei's Kitchen is a pop up in the newly-trendy Kødbyen. Not sure how long they will be around in the address, but at least they're in the business now for the next few months.
Their tagline is "Chinese Street Food", but it's more of trendy, upper-class street food if you can call it. The main dishes cost 150 DKK and it's not the usual Chinese restaurant portion, but more of the wide plate with some food in the middle-ish kinda portion.
We went there in a group of five (remember to book the place!) on Sunday evening and wanted to just order a couple of dishes to share. They were quick to suggest how to share the dishes and we just agreed on their ideas. We got 5 starters (3 scallops, 2 dumplings) and three main dishes (no chicken since I don't eat any) and I could say that the star of the show was definitely the twice-cooked pork. They were delicious. The watercress and the aubergine were super good as well, but the water-poached sea bass was just okay.
Some in our group tried the dessert, the Chinese dessert soup that I didn't try but the red bean ice cream was excellent.
The bill came at 1295DKK for five of us. Okay, but definitely above the usual Chinese dining fare. If you just want to eat Chinese food, I'd suggest going some other places (on my list), but if you want to impress your date, this is the place to go.

By far my favourite Chinese restaurant in Copenhagen - I've had an amazing evening. They could charge 25% more and I would still give them 5 stars.
Delicious food, romantic atmosphere, charming & attentive waiter.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a tasting for Kewei's Kitchen and, along with some 25 other lucky samplers, spent a leisurely afternoon working my way through Kewei's exciting new menu for the Kødbyen street food market where the kitchen will make its debut on July 1. First up was the cheese and chive dumplings which beautifully combine a classic western staple with the Chinese chive to create a snack that melts in the mouth. Delicious! Next up was the braised pork which, slow cooked for some hours, oozed succulent juices on top of a bed of rice with pickled cucumber, carrot and the wonderful tea-infused egg (Kewei was guarding the exact process of how she created this one close to her chest!). It was amazing and, having lived in Beijing previously, was as near to the authentic pork dishes I used to eat regularly there down the alleys and Hutongs of China's great capital as I have ever experienced in Copenhagen. Last up was the delightfully crisp sesame oil, noodle salad which comes either in vegetarian (and vegan) version or with spiced chicken. As a confirmed carnivore, I obviously opted for the spiced chicken version and it is so good but sans chicken, it should be something that non-meat eaters should also enjoy (perhaps accompanied by 2-3 of the dumplings?). I thoroughly recommend !

I've eaten there a few times now and really liked every time. It's not the kind of Chinese food you find in every other Chinese restaurant or stall. It has a modern touch, high quality, and it's fresh and delicious. I also really enjoyed the friendly, cozy and genuine atmosphere and service. I can absolutely recommend it!
